The Yoga of Getting Along: Intro to Compassionate Communication

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Conflict happens, so learn to navigate it well. By excavating what's beneath any friction, you can focus on the deeper motivation and change the conversation to one of understanding. Compassionate Communication helps you to compassionately understand your habitual behavior and to translate your judgments. Guided by Resiliency Team Leader Cat McCarthy, this introduction workshop introduces the key concepts of NVC (Nonviolent Communication) as a foundation upon which to build a practice. You will acquire tools of emotional intelligence to help generate new neural pathways for empathy. With a relationship to your own feelings and needs, you can create stronger connection both inside and out. There will be a mix of playful partner/group exercises and discussion. Along with your notebook/pen, please bring an open heart and a curious mind. Get ready to be surprised!
